I purchased a Samsung A0 5with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. In my 20 years of life, having used mobile phones since the era of Nokia 3310—approximately 18 years of continuous usage—I have never experienced such deep regret over a mobile phone purchase as I do with this particular device.

The quality is exceedingly substandard, and the performance is extremely poor. Previously, I had been using the Samsung S8 Active, which proved to be an excellent device. I had placed great trust in Samsung as a brand, having also used numerous other models, including those from the Galaxy “A” and “Note” series, with satisfactory results. However, I am dismayed that Samsung could produce a handset of such inferior quality.

It was difficult for me to even believe that this device was manufactured by Samsung. For the past year, I have been compelled to continue using it merely out of necessity, as I have had no alternative. Nevertheless, I remain profoundly disappointed by this experience.

First of all, almost all "A" models are now being built by Lucky Motors in Pakistan, 1- to avoid huge import taxes, 2- to build them cheap for local population.
Now in smartphones, the hardware isn't the only thing to look for, but software also adds up. The same reason windows laptops still are more than 50% more expensive than new Chromebooks with same specs. Samsung comes with some additional benefits and apps along with beautiful UI6, that isn't in any other oppo redmi phone. Plus, even those Chinese companies aren't offering their phones with same specs in the lower or same prices. So you shouuld concider that you get what you pay for.

Now coming up to performance issues. This is the prime mistake by samsung that when they were presenting us with a smartphone which already was running top of the line Andorid 14 with oneUI6, it has to be powerful. So it is common sense that when your phone is running top of the line OS and UI, it surely will lag since it doesn't have enough ram and cpu.

What's the solution?
I have mentioned in my posts and in many comments about the 'fix' i found. Go to power settings and put almost all the apps in deep sleep whose notifications you don't want, nor want them to work in background. Leave the system and communication apps. And ride apps if you use them because you'll be needi g their notifications abojt ride delivery etc. And leave the clock and calender etc. But you can even put calculator in deep sleep since you don't want its notifications and don't need it to work in background.
Try this, and your phone will improve in performance significantly without removing anything.

However it will hinder in multitasking between deep sleeping apps. For example i multitask between chatgps, gmail, notes, browser, whatsapp. To keep them all active, remove them from deep sleeping for the time being and then put them back.

And kindly let me know whether you tried it or not? Because i too, am running 4/64 gb phone, it lagged so much before, even sometimes keyboard took time to open up when replyingto messages, but not it is working fine

Sir, I am indeed grateful to you for your earlier advice regarding placing applications into deep sleep mode, as it resolved certain issues, particularly the lagging of display functions on my handset. However, the core difficulty with this mobile device persists. Applications, including even PPIs and others, fail to operate smoothly; they stutter, freeze, and abruptly stop functioning. At times, the device locks itself and requires manual lock–unlock operations before it resumes, which is highly inconvenient.

Furthermore, the device lacks proper resolution, colour vibrancy, and overall fluidity. Its internal performance is exceedingly unpleasant and unsatisfactory. Having personally used a wide variety of mobile phones in the past, I can confidently state that I have never witnessed such poor condition and substandard functionality in any handset as I am experiencing with this particular mobile phone.

Sir, I have even used Chinese-manufactured devices, whose internal software performance, I must admit, is far superior when compared with this A05. I purchased this device for PKR 35,000. My regret is not that the money has gone to waste, but that for the same amount I could have acquired a Chinese device with far better performance, or even a second-hand phone that would have provided a much smoother user experience. In fact, within this same price range, there are multiple Samsung models available in the market that are considerably superior in quality.

It is precisely for this reason that I am deeply disappointed with the A05. Despite being updated to Android 15, its internal state remains so poor that while using it, I feel an inexplicable discomfort that is difficult to articulate in words. The PPI is extremely low, colours are dull, and even after installing different launchers and later reverting to its original theme, there has been no improvement. Its display is more akin to the harsh glare of an LED bulb in a room than the refined vibrancy of a modern smartphone screen.

This device cannot be considered a true smartphone in the real sense. At best, it serves only the basic purpose of making calls. Even opening MS Office applications takes more than 10 seconds, and any game requires at least 30 seconds just to load—only to eventually freeze or fail to run properly. When one maintains over a hundred applications, or simply attempts to log into an account, the device lags extensively. This issue persists regardless of whether one is connected to a strong Wi-Fi connection or otherwise.

I am mentally distressed with this mobile phone. Having been a mobile phone user for over 15 years, I have never in my life encountered such a poorly performing and ill-constructed handset. I feel deep regret at having purchased such a substandard device. I must reiterate, Sir, that my complaint pertains specifically to the A05 model.

I see. I never used A05, but I bought A06 (4/64gb) in September last year in under 22k. So, for me, its performance justifies the price.
And even for you, if you have gotten the same phone in under 25k at least, it would still makes sense for a phone to lag a bit.
But since you mentioned you spent 35k, and there really are many samsung and non-samsung phones out there in that 35k range, which work really great, so in that case, your rant is somewhat justified.

But I think that's mostly based on the bad deal that you've got. Because my phone even under 22k has fingerprint sensor, this is slowly becoming my main phone for all operations since my iphone is not pta approved and i have been multitasking between whatsap, gmail, chatgpt, shopify, chrome browser and gallery all at the same time, and yes it is not smoooth as iphone, but it justifies its price. Coming from an iPhone user.

But what can you do now?
If you haven't, try resetting your phone as you mentioned you installed a lot of theme apps. These apps leave a lot of residue in system. Try upgrading OS and UI if you haven't.
And as far as color vibration is concerned, it really lacks here. But keep in mind, it is a low end budget phone. So you have to bear with it.
And we feel sorry for your bad experience.

Sir, in addition to the aforementioned shortcomings, this device lacks a fingerprint sensor and NFC functionality—both of which have become standard features in the present market, even in devices ranging from PKR 17,000 to 30,000 across almost every brand. The display condition is so disappointing that it resembles the outdated LCD screens of old phones, with poor resolution and an overall unpleasant user experience.

Despite being equipped with 6GB of RAM, its performance reflects that of a 2G-era device. When playing any video, the display feels more like watching an ordinary LCD television rather than a modern mobile phone screen. The handset is of considerable size, yet Samsung has failed to incorporate proper colour quality, vibrancy, or focus into its display.

I have conducted thorough research, and it is evident that the A05 is deprived of many essential functions which, at this stage, ought to be considered as basic features. It is indeed regretful that such a large-sized device offers such little in terms of substance, features, and satisfaction.

Sir, after having conducted thorough research regarding this mobile, I have come to the ultimate conclusion that its only reasonable use is to hand it over to small children so they may watch cartoons upon it. When eventually its components deteriorate or break down, it may simply be discarded.

To sell this device would not be proper, for whosoever purchases it will be subjected to the same distress and frustration that I myself have endured. It is neither just nor fair to transfer one’s own grievance onto another unsuspecting individual.
