Samsung recently launched the revamped Galaxy A series in India, with an aim to make it the biggest brand in the country. While the new Galaxy A phones are now available to purchase in many countries, Samsung hopes they will contribute over $4 billion in revenues by the end of 2019 in India alone. And it seems the company is well on track to achieve that target. It has already sold over 2 million units of the latest Galaxy A smartphones in India.

Ranjivjit Singh, Chief Marketing Officer and Senior Vice President of Samsung India, recently revealed that the company shipped a total of two million units of the three Galaxy A phones – A10, A30 and A50 – during the 40-day period starting March 1. The revenue turnover from the sales was $500 million, which Singh believes is “a record for any brand in the industry”. With more A series phones arriving soon, Samsung feels confident that it can surpass the target of $4 billion. “When the rest of the portfolio in the ‘A’ series becomes available we are sure of not only achieving, but exceeding our target,” Singh said, speaking to Indian publication IANS.
