Dear Samsung Member,

Greetings from Samsung Customer Support!

We at Samsung understand your concern. Kindly follow the below mentioned steps to improve the performance of the device:

  1. Reregister the Finger Print: Settings> Biometric and security> Fingerprint > Continue> Set a screen lock method> Continue> Set a screen lock> Register Fingerprint
  2. Ensure that the screen protector or the touchscreen on the fingerprint recognition sensor area is not scratched or damaged by objects, such as coins, keys, pens, and necklaces.
  3. If you bend your finger or use a fingertip, the device may not recognize your fingerprints. Press the fingertip so that your fingertip spreads over the wide surface of the fingerprint recognition area.

We recommend customers to use only Samsung approved Screen protector.

If the issue still persist, we would request you to register your concern in Samsung Members Application in order to assist you better. (Samsung Members App > Get help> Feedback >Error report > Attach log file for any issue)

Thank you for writing to Samsung.

Warm Regards,

Samsung Customer Support
