Samsung Galaxy A14 notifications

Hello...I purchased the Samsung galaxy A14 and noticed that when my phone is locked and I receive either a text message,whatsapp message or any other notifications these do not highlight on my screen and screen stays off. Lock screen notifications are all turned on and don't know what could be the issue....please assist? Thank you Tarryn

Check that do not disturb and silent mode are off. Then check that notifications for whatsapp are on. If the issue persists then restart your phone.

Both are off but still do not receive notifications

Long press on the whatsapp app as an example and then go to the settings. Click on notifications and see if your settings look like the attached

If that's all fine then your issue could be with edge lighting. Go to attached and see if all those are on and the apps in question are ticked for edge lighting via off screen
