my friend's a70 (which she bought in an official store in israel) also came with a protector on. the s10 family comes with a protector too so maybe a50 does too? it might be exclusive to certain stores or countries/regions too

There may be a plastic layer on the top. But I doubt whether it can protect the screen like a tempered glass screen protector.
