Galaxy AHas someone else ever faced this?
I decide to download the update, and it downloaded until a certain point where it stopped and keeps going back and forth between 49 and 50% [image 1], and for some reason (not internet connection) it pauses it and show that screen [image 2].
After toggling on the "Download updates automatically" option, it keeps resuming and interrupting the downloaded and taking me to the update screen, no matter what app I'm using at that moment.

Yes, of ceetainly was. I've even updated some apps, but the issue seems not to be related to my internet connection

The only way to do a stable update is with either being connected to wifi or going to a shopping centre where there is uncapped wifi

If you have enough Mobile Data the tap "Continue" otherwise just connect to Wi-Fi and continue

None of them will work. The problem persists whether I'm using mobile data or WiFi, even with great speeds.

What happens when you click continue 🤔
And again have you checked your storage capacity?

Yes. The update is less than 300MB and I've at least 7GB of free storage.

Hi LewisF
These screenshots confirm EXACTLY what I suspected:
✅ Your A06 is stuck in a corrupted FOTA download loop at 49–50%.
This is the classic A06 One UI 8 download bug.
The popup in the second screenshot (“Continue downloading?”) means the phone is failing the integrity check of the downloaded file — so it keeps restarting the download.
Let me give you the exact fix based on your images.
Follow these steps in this order — this works for 99% of A06 users with this problem:
---
🔧 STEP 1 — Clear BOTH caches (important for A06)
A. Software Update
Settings
Apps
Tap ⋮ (3 dots) → Show system apps
Find Software Update
Storage → Clear Cache
B. FOTAService
Go back
Find FOTAService
Storage → Clear Cache
⚠️ Do NOT clear data. Only clear cache.
---
🔧 STEP 2 — Delete the stuck update file
Your phone definitely has a corrupt update.zip stuck (that’s why it restarts at 49–50%).
Do this:
1. Settings → Battery & Device Care
2. Storage
3. Tap Advanced
4. Scroll until you see:
update.zip
OR a folder named FOTA
5. Delete it
6. Restart the phone
This forces a fresh download.
---
🔧 STEP 3 — Turn OFF Auto Download
Your phone is forcing you to the update screen because the auto-download handler is glitching.
Go to:
Settings → Software Update → Auto Download → OFF
---
🔧 STEP 4 — Retry Download (Fresh Start)
After restarting:
1. Open Software Update
2. Tap Download and Install
3. Let the download run fresh from 0%
This time it should pass 50% cleanly.
---
🔧 If still stuck → Use Samsung Hidden Debug Menu
Only do this if the above 3 steps don’t fix it.
Dial:
*#9900#
Scroll down:
Delete dumpstate/logcat → Confirm
FOTA Reset → Confirm
Restart the device.
Then try downloading again.
---
🟢 Why your phone is behaving like this
The A06 has a small FOTA partition
One UI 8 is a large update
At 49–50%, the system checks if the package is valid
Yours fails → loop → popup (your 2nd screenshot)
This is 100% a corrupted partial download.
