Those who are having trouble adding their fingerprint after updating their phones. It can be due to the update has not been installed properly.
Kindly visit your nearest Samsung service centre. 
I got my issue resolved regarding adding fingerprints in my device today. 
They will either re-update your device or change the fingerprint sensor completely. If the re-updation doesn't work then they will change the fingerprint sensor completely.

This issue can be solved also by booting it in safe mode then try to add fingerprint again if it added well and good if it didn't again boot your mobile normally to get out of safe mode and then try adding again it should work ! mine just did 😁

This issue will be fixed in the next update so don't waste your time in troubleshooting
