You first have to go to developer options and switch on OEM unlocking to unlock the bootlaoder(Recovery mode). Switch off the phone.Switch it on again with the power button and volume up button.Make sure you phone is connected via USB for example in your PC.Recovery mode will only unlock if you connect a USB.Wont work by plugging it in the adapter.
