Does Cracked Screen have effect on Mobile phone?

phone was cracked 1 day before lockdown started in my country,

and suddenly it started acting with abnormal behaviour,
it stopped showing remaining time to charge up the device, phone is heating up, only solution to charge is if i switched off and charge but charge doesn't hold much ,
i uninstalled app even factory reset the phone,
Any help?

after crack screen two main things happen the the adhesive which is used to hold screen over the screen is broken the dust may easily enter to phone

that can damage the internal circuit board of the phone which utterly lead to failure of the chip set

secondly if damage is severe then battery compartment will be puncture thus will lead slow charge or even more dangerous the battery might explode
