Galaxy AThat kind of heating on the Galaxy A56 (especially after taking it out of a pouch) could be due to a few things — and yes, the One UI 8.0 update might be a contributing factor. Let’s go through what’s happening and what you can do 👇
🔍 Why it’s heating up
1. Post-update processing:
After a major update like One UI 8.0, the phone reindexes files, optimizes apps, and syncs background data. This can make the device unusually hot for 24–48 hours.
2. Pouch heat retention:
Keeping it in a pouch traps heat. Once you remove it, it might feel extra hot since the heat couldn’t dissipate earlier.
3. Background apps or sync:
Apps like Google Photos, Samsung Cloud, or WhatsApp may be syncing in the background after the update.
4. CPU load or software bug:
Some users on newer One UI versions have reported heating issues caused by rogue system processes or AI features running too often.

✅ What you can do
1. Let it cool down naturally – place it on a cool (not cold) surface away from direct sunlight.
2. Avoid charging it while it’s hot.
3. Restart the phone – clears any runaway background processes.
4. Check battery usage:
Go to Settings → Battery and Device Care → Battery → Usage to see which apps are draining power or keeping the CPU active.
5. Wipe cache partition (recommended after big updates):
Power off the phone.
Hold Volume Up + Power until the Samsung logo appears.
Use volume buttons to select Wipe cache partition → Yes.
Then select Repair apps if the option appears.
6. Use in Safe Mode (press and hold Power → hold “Power off” → choose Safe Mode).
If it doesn’t heat there, it’s likely an app issue.
7. If it stays hot after 2 days, report it via the Samsung Members app → Get help → Error reports → Thermal issue.
