Hi Moshita
it’s great you’re checking on this. I looked into your issue with your Samsung Galaxy A06 running One UI 8 and the “Now Brief” / customizable clock feature, and here are some possible reasons and things to check.
---
✅ What Samsung promised
Samsung’s One UI 8 feature list includes a “New lock screen clock” (dynamic clock placement with the wallpaper).
It also mentions “Stay up to date with Now brief / Get timely updates and useful information …” under One UI.
So yes: Samsung has stated these features would be part of One UI 8.
---
❓ Why you might not see them on your phone
Here are some common reasons (and check-points) — one or more may apply to your case:
1. Device compatibility
Even if Samsung announces a feature for “One UI 8”, it doesn’t always mean all models get every feature. Often high-end models get the full set first, and mid/entry models may get a subset.
The A06 may be considered a more budget/end model, so some features might be omitted.
2. Region / firmware version
Feature availability can vary by region, carrier, or firmware build. Some features may be disabled or delayed in certain regions.
Check that your phone’s software version is fully up-to-date (Settings → Software update).
3. Feature rollout timing
At the time of writing, One UI 8 is still rolling out (especially for lower-tier devices). Some features might arrive later.
It’s possible you haven’t received the specific “Now Brief” or clock customization update yet.
4. Settings not enabled / hidden in UI
Sometimes the feature exists but is not enabled by default, or is in a slightly different menu.
For example, the “Always On Display” clock options are present in Samsung’s support website.
So you may need to dig into lock screen settings → widgets or clock style to see if the “customizable clock” is present.
---
🔧 What you can try
Here are some steps you might take to see if you can enable the missing features:
Go to Settings → Lock Screen (or equivalent) and see if there’s a “Clock style”, “Lock screen widgets”, “Now Brief” or similar menu.
Check Settings → Software update and make sure you're on the latest version for your region.
If there’s an option for Always On Display (AOD), check clock & widget settings there.
If you still don’t see the feature, you may check Samsung’s official support pages for your region or contact Samsung support—mention your exact model (Galaxy A06) and region (South Africa/KZN) to see if this model is eligible for the full range of One UI 8 features.
