I’ve seen a lot of people stressing over the One UI 8.5 update lately, and honestly? I don't think it's worth losing sleep over. From what I’ve seen, there’s nothing fundamentally groundbreaking here. It’s mostly just a collection of visual tweaks and minor customization improvements.

Don't get me wrong, the cosmetic changes are nice. We're getting:

  • Better Quick Settings control: The ability to finally resize and rearrange the quick settings panel.
  • Sleeker UI elements: Transparent app folders, a transparent status bar, a new settings layout, and generally better icon designs.
  • System app refreshes: Small visual and functional updates to the Calculator and Device Care, plus a removable battery icon.

But here is my main issue: there is no real improvement to the useful everyday apps. For example, the Camera app hasn't received any meaningful new features or performance upgrades.

If you're expecting a massive shift in how your phone actually functions day-to-day, you might be disappointed. It’s a nice face-lift, but nothing special. So to anyone stressing about waiting for it or wondering if it's a game-changer: don't sweat it, buddy!

What do you all think? Are you updating for the new look, or do you agree that it's lacking real substance?

I actually ditched that a long time ago. Instead, I use Typi to refine my grammar, watch a ton of YouTube breakdowns, and dive into Reddit to read real-user comparisons.

You can find the app on the play store and the other one that I mostly use is called AI input
Here's the link of the app: https://play.google.co...
