You are right 👍

That's called Marketing by Targeting people.

A55 is a more powerful device, but they wanted your support to buy new device after 4 years 😮.

You can afford a new device because of you bought a55.

Samsung thinks you are capable enough, you have property, even you are earning good salary.

Providing 6 update for A16 and only 4 for A55 is a way to attract buyers by claiming support for 6 years. Most affordable segment/ secondary device.

Samsung always push the latest os and ui to S/Z series of the yearly flagships first and then to the other devices based on the segment and model.
A16 might receive the promised 6th os on the 7th or 8th year if the phone can survive that long and still handle the update without breaking down.

Just my take on the 6 updates for A16 hardware.

It's a marketing gimmick. Software updates can't change hardware problems. Mark it! I am an A55 user. According to the price point, the camera overall quality in A55 is very poor compared to other devices. Samsung didn't take any fruitful action yet like pushing a software update for camera improvement. I now guess, the camera hardware setup is the predominant reason behind the camera poor quality.
