Try not allowing whatever app is sending you these notifications to send alert notifications. If this isn't an option then I'm not sure. This will depend on what mobile network you are part of (MTN/ Vodacom ect.) So prehaps next time you are nearby a store ask the help desk. Hope this helps.
Turn on airplane mode. If it switched you wifi connection of, swithc the wi fi connection on again. Remember to switch airplane mode of again after loadshedding.
