I think it's software related because the battery only drains the power overnight like if l charge it to 100 and unplug before sleeping it'll be around 80 to 85% even when l put ultra battery 🔋 saver.

Hi
Let’s troubleshoot both issues on the Samsung Galaxy A24 — the USSD not working and battery drain — since they could be related to software or network issues after an update.

---

⚙️ 1. *USSD Codes Not Working (e.g. #06#, airtime checks, etc.)

Possible causes:

SIM or network configuration issue

Software bug after an update

Carrier services corruption

Fix steps:

1. Restart your phone – this clears temporary network bugs.

2. Try USSD with another SIM – if it works, the issue is with the network or SIM.

3. Clear system apps:

Go to Settings → Apps → Carrier Services (if available) → Storage → Clear cache and Clear data

Do the same for Phone and SIM Toolkit apps.

4. Reset network settings:

Go to Settings → General management → Reset → Reset network settings

This often fixes USSD problems.

5. Test in Safe Mode:

Hold power button → tap and hold Power off → choose Safe mode

If USSD works here, a 3rd-party app (like Truecaller or call manager apps) is interfering.

6. Check SIM permissions:

Settings → Apps → SIM Toolkit → Permissions → ensure Phone and SMS access are enabled.

---

🔋 2. Battery Drains Even When Idle

Likely causes:

Background apps using mobile data or location

Android 14 / One UI 6 update bugs

Sync or Bluetooth constantly on

Fix steps:

1. Check battery usage:

Go to Settings → Battery and device care → Battery → Usage since last charge

See which apps are consuming power (e.g. Google Play Services, Facebook, etc.).

2. Restrict background activity:

Settings → Battery → Background usage limits → Enable Put unused apps to sleep.

3. Turn off always-on connections:

Disable Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Location when not in use.

4. Update all apps (especially Samsung and Google apps).

5. Wipe cache partition (safe step):

Turn off phone → Press Volume Up + Power → Release when Samsung logo appears.

Use volume keys to select Wipe cache partition → confirm with Power.

6. Run Device Care optimization:

Settings → Battery and device care → Optimize now.

🧩 If the issues started after a software update

You can also:

Boot into Safe Mode to confirm if it’s software-related.

If confirmed, perform a Factory Reset after backing up your data.
