Hi!
I am extremely confused and pretty annoyed!

My A40 updated itself ~1 hour ago. I let it do its thing as I sat and did other things. I saw my phone had finished its update and quickly noticed some settings had been reverted to how they were when I first got the phone (specifically the vibrate on touch/action) so I edited those to be back to normal.
Then, I went to go to chat to my friends, here, I watched as my keyboard popped up for a single second, then disappeared, saying "Samsung Keyboard updating..."

It has been perpetually updating for over an hour now and I haven't been able to use my keyboard at all. I have tried restarting/hard restarting my phone several times, using the device care, etc.
Nothing has worked and I've had to download a seperate keyboard app to get anything to work.
I've tried clearing space (despite space being very unlikely the issue), that also hasn't worked.

Since then, I've tried looking for answers, but have found nothing, so instead I turn to the forum full of others who may have answers, solutions or maybe even experiences of their own?
I have pondered on possibly factory resetting the phone, but there's a /lot/ on there I would like to keep and it would take way too long to transfer it all onto a cloud app for me to redownload after-the-fact, so that is very much a last resort for me right now.

Is this an issue with the One UI 3.1? Is this also an issue with others, or is it just me?
Anyone got any ideas/solutions?

SMALL UPDATE: I've noticed that in the notification it gives me when it tells me the keyboard is updating, it says "Samsung Keyboard (Deprecated)". I assume this is something to do with it but I have no clue what.

Go to settings >apps>click 3 lines right side of "your apps" enable "show system app"
>>search in search bar (just type Samsung keyboard">click on it>storage >clear cache and data
Restart your phone and then try.

I have now found that there are currently two versions of the Samsung Keyboard on my phone, one thats labelled as "Deprecated" and one that isn't. I believe my phone is still trying to use the deprecated version? If this was the case, which I assume it is, how would I swap it to the other version that seems to be the intended one..?

I did as I was informed to; I cleared the cache, but it hasn't worked, so I've assumed my phone is favoring the deprecated version. Hence why I've asked how I'd change to what should be the intended version of the app?
