Galaxy A---
🛑 1. Turn off Samsung’s Personalized Ads
Samsung shows ads based on your settings — you can stop them from being tailored (and often reduce how much you see).
1. Open Settings
2. Tap Privacy
3. Tap Customization Service
4. Turn off “Customized ads and direct marketing”
This stops Samsung from using your data to personalize ads (won’t remove all ads entirely).
---
🔕 2. Turn Off Promotional Notifications
Many ads come as notification banners from system apps like Galaxy Store, Samsung Pay, Samsung Push Service etc.
1. Go to Settings → Notifications
2. Tap App notifications or See all
3. For each of these apps:
Galaxy Store
Samsung Pay
Samsung Push Service
Samsung Wallet
Galaxy Themes
…etc
Tap it → turn off Promotional ads / Marketing / Show notifications or unwanted categories.
This prevents ads showing up as push notifications.
---
📵 3. Remove Lock Screen/Wallpaper Ads
If you see ads on the lock screen or swipe screen:
1. Go to Settings → Wallpaper and style
2. Tap Wallpaper services (or similar)
3. Choose None or a static wallpaper
This stops things like Glance lock-screen promos.
---
🌐 4. Stop Ads in Browser
Ads while browsing aren’t from the system — they’re web ads.
Samsung Internet
1. Open Samsung Internet
2. Tap ☰ (bottom right) → Settings
3. Go to Privacy and security
4. Enable pop-up blocker
5. Optionally install an ad-blocker extension from the Galaxy Store.
Chrome
1. Open Chrome
2. Go to Settings → Site settings
3. Block Pop-ups & redirects and Ads.
---
🔍 5. Block Google Ads (System-wide)
This won’t remove Samsung ads, but it stops Google ad personalization across apps:
1. Settings → Google → Ads
2. Turn on Opt out of Ads Personalisation
3. You can also Reset advertising ID to clear ad profiling.
---
🧹 6. Find & Remove Apps Causing Pop-ups
Some ads aren’t from Samsung but from shady apps you installed:
1. Settings → Apps
2. Sort by Recently installed
3. If you see pop-ups or ads outside normal apps, uninstall suspicious apps
4. Reboot if needed (safe mode can help isolate culprit apps).
---
📌 Notes & Tips
You might still see ads in some Samsung apps like Galaxy Store inside the app itself — there’s no way to remove those fully right now.
Some Samsung ads appear despite settings being off; this seems to be because Samsung sometimes pushes promotions in their apps.
In future One UI updates (like One UI 8.5), Samsung may add tools to block apps with excessive ads — but that’s not widely available yet.
---
If you tell me which specific ads are bothering you most (lock screen? pop-ups? notifications?), I can give even more targeted steps!
