Google assist ain't working

Hello fellow readers 
So I'm wondering if anyone has a solution to Google Assistant. Every time I say Hey Google, instead of assistant popping up it takes me to the Google app instead. Same with holding the home button. I'm lost and confused 😕

Mine was also doing that. You just have to update the Google app in Play Store.

Please let me know if the update fixes it.

Have you tried recalibrating it or checking the settings? Maybe one step is incomplete 🤔

I went through the settings nothing is working. I tried retraining the voice thing and it just takes me to the Google app, I tried downloading the assistant app, and it works. However, I need to manually launch the app for it to work

Check if the app is in Deep sleeping or not.

If it keeps opening up the Google page instead of opening your voice assistan, go into advance settings delete your voice, reload your voice and add or select English (US), English (NZ) any of those. The glitch is supposedly the English should have a region attached to it. I also chose to use Gemini instead of the Google voice assistant.
The root of the problem is language so try changing or adding and see what it does. That's how I fixed mine.

Also Hey Google and Okay Google are two separate functions according to the settings but it does the same **bleep** thing 😅
