Dear Samsung member,

Greetings of the day from Samsung India!

Thank you for sharing your concern. We acknowledge your query and apologize for the same. And please follow the easy troubleshooting steps which might help to solve the issue.

The phone touch screen could stop working due to physical damage.

Physical damage: The touch screen is broken or damaged. High temperature, cold, moisture, magnet, and static electricity can all damage touchscreen of Android phone.

Step 1: Restart the phone by pressing the Power button and then tap on Restart.
A: Press & hold the power key.
B: Tap on Restart.
C: Tap again to Restart your phone.

Step 2: If you are using the memory card in the device.
Due to some ''unauthorized'' file in memory card device performance will be slow, so if you are using the memory card in your device. I will advise you to safely remove it from your device. For this follow the below steps:

Before removing the memory card, first, unmount it for safe removal.
On the Home screen, tap Apps > Settings > Device maintenance > Storage > More option > Storage settings > SD card > Unmount.

Step 3: Check your device in safe mode.
To enter into Safe mode:
Power off the device>Press and hold the Power key for one or two seconds to turn on the device>>When the Samsung logo appears, press and hold the Volume down key.

Note: If your device functions correctly in Safe Mode, it is most likely that the issue lies with a 3rd party application that can be uninstalled to resolve the problem.

To exit the safe mode, restart the device.

Step 4: Please reset all device settings using the steps:
Apps>settings> general management>reset all settings( Delete just settings) / Factory reset( Delete complete files, apps etc)

Kindly create a data backup of your device via the smart switch mobile application or http://www.samsung.com/in/support/smartswitch pc suite.
Remember the google password before resetting the device because it is required during the initial setup.

If you do not remember then advise to reset (Forgot password) the google account.
For this; Open Gmail (https://accounts.google.com/servicelogin)>>Select forgot password>>Select "try another way" like mobile number, security question, etc.>>Select Next.

In case the issue still occurs. Please register your concern in Samsung Members Application (Open Samsung Members Application > Support> Tap on error report > Type your query > Send).

Thank you for writing to Samsung!

Warm Regards,
Samsung Customer Support
