You're quite right. It is quite a hefty update.

these must be those pesky bugs to slow down the phone. too many updates are not good for the phone

LOL. The update was actually quite OK. It was def not a small update. Everything's working OK AFAIK. The pesky notification to update recommended apps after checking for a system update is gone now. Thankfully.
