Sorry for the vague title.

I recently had to replace the screen on my Samsung Galaxy A50 after water damage. The phone works perfectly fine, and touch is registered normally.

However, I tried to set up a new fingerprint today. When I hold my finger over the sensor, however, the phone gave an error saying that I had to cover the entire sensor - which I did. Trying multiple times didn't work, and neither did restarting the phone.

Is this a software issue, or do I need to go to a repair centre?

If it helps, I added a tempered screen protector on the phone.

I think it's a software issue. I have seen many posts from A50 users complaining on fingerprint issues.

Hi there,

Kindly follow the below mentioned steps to resolve the issue-
> If any screen guard/tampered glass/protection film is available then first disable the fingerprint settings and then remove the screen guard.
> Once screen guard is removed now register the fingerprint again and check the issue
> Make sure to use the central fingerprint parts evenly when you register or scan fingerprint, so that all portions of fingerprint, including the center and corners have been fully scanned.

Nevertheless if you still have similar problems while registering or scanning your fingerprints, please visit to the authorized Samsung service center with device and have it inspected for further resolution.
