My Samsung Galaxy A36 5G has suddenly started misbehaving. It freezes randomly and then force reboots itself, or doesn't boot until connected to a charger. I don't have any malicious apps installed, and I've all my safety and security settings turned on, so this is not done by some malicious app.

I asked Google Gemini AI, and it said its most probably a hardware issue (faulty battery, IC, power chip, or soldered joints) causing Kernel-level crash. I wanted to ask if anyone here has faced a similar issue with their A-series or S-series phone, and what was the solution.

I bought my phone 2 months ago, new. It's in official warranty. The phone's running OneUI 8 with March Security Patch recently installed. Phone model is SM-A366B/DS.

Then just return the phone back as its under warranty.

How does the Official Warranty work in Pakistan? If I claim the warranty, then will the phone be repaired by Samsung or local persons? I don't wanna get my phone parts swapped or lose waterproofing.

Did you buy from official Samsung store?
Samsung's first priority is always to repair device or replace the specific defective part. A full device replacement is rare and only happens if a repair is not feasible.

I bought from the local brick-and-mortar store, since there's no official Samsung store in my city (or nearby cities). I've always bought Samsung phones locally and none of the devices have had any issues so far. I've registered my phone on the official Samsung app, which means the device is genuine.

I'm gonna perform a factory reset as a last resort to see if that solves the issue; otherwise I'm now certain that this is hardware-related, and will claim the warranty and get the device repaired.

I did used the diagnostics from the Members app. No issues detected for 20/20 categories. Although the app did prompt me with "phone froze and incorrectly restarted, send log to Samsung" message.

So, the phone died and I claimed the warranty. The official pipeline took 2 weeks to send back the device. Turns out, the issue was with the Power Management Chip connected to the motherboard. They replaced the required parts.

No scratches or signs of mishandling which is good. They claim the IP67 waterproofing is intact, but I'd still be cautious.

Can't believe Samsung Pakistan's quality control! It should be stricter. Samsung devices made in Pakistan are prone to these issues, buy carefully.

South Korea mein abhi Beta Testing chal rahi hai OneUI 8.5 ki, so I guess May ke end tak, ya June ke shuru men Pakistan men stable version release ho jaega. Be patient.
