Samsung is planning to include Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) in the main camera of its upcoming Galaxy A17 smartphone. This is a significant move as OIS, once a premium feature, has been gradually appearing in Samsung's mid-range Galaxy A series (starting with the A2x series, like the A26). To make it more affordable for an entry-level device, Samsung is reportedly considering a spring-based OIS system that is 20% cheaper than current implementations. The company hopes that adding OIS will differentiate the Galaxy A17 from competitors and boost sales.
