I reached out to Samsung Support about Always-On Display (AOD) for the Galaxy A16. The device has an AMOLED display that can handle AOD, but Samsung admitted it’s disabled by software and not supported on this model.

I don’t understand why a feature the hardware can support is being locked away. Many phones in the same price range already include AOD.

I’ve already submitted feedback with proof, but I think more A16 users should speak up. We deserve this feature in a future One UI update.

Screenshots attached: (1) Settings with no AOD option (2) Samsung’s official reply confirming it’s disabled.

Yeah but that’s what Samsung wants for us to just shrug and accept it 🤦🏽‍♂️. Truth is, if enough of us call it out, they will feel the heat. Every post, every tag, every complaint is like fuel 🔥. We might not flip the switch ourselves, but we can sure make them sweat until they do 💯

Facts bro 💯 Samsung has a pattern with this — the hardware is capable, but they lock features and updates to push people into new models. Your old phone stuck at Android 11 even though it could run 14–16 is the same play as my A16 having AMOLED but no AOD. It’s not about possibility, it’s about control. That’s why so many of us are frustrated 😤

Even worse then 😅 the A50 still had plenty of life in it, but Samsung froze it out on Android 11. Same strategy they’re pulling now lock the A16 out of AOD even though the AMOLED can handle it. Whether it’s updates or features, they always cut support early to keep people upgrading. That’s the real jet engine in the garage that they refuse to let us use 🚗🔥✈️
