Hi everyone,

I’ve been going back and forth with Samsung support regarding Always On Display (AOD) on the Galaxy A16. Since this phone has a Super AMOLED display, the hardware is more than capable of running AOD. However, the feature is disabled in software and not available in settings.

I already contacted Samsung directly and submitted a feature request with screenshots. Their official reply was that they’ve forwarded the request to the development team, but they can’t confirm if or when it will be added through a future One UI update.

👉 The important part: Our voices matter. The more A16 users request AOD, the higher the chance Samsung takes this seriously for One UI 8 and beyond.

If you also want AOD on your A16, please:

Submit a feature request through Samsung Members (Support → Send Feedback → Feature Request).

Comment here so Samsung can see how many of us care about this.

We pay good money for these devices, and features like AOD shouldn’t be locked away when the hardware supports it.

Let’s keep the pressure

True but the A16 already has an AMOLED panel so it feels like Samsung is holding back a feature on purpose not because it can’t handle it That’s why we keep raising it in Members so they know budget users also value these features

Maybe the creation of the A16 was already planned - that it will not support AOD.🥲
But with the upcoming One UI versions it will get (a lot) there is a slight chance that it will get it. 🤷‍♂️ Only updating to newer versions AND time WILL tell.

True that, time will tell 👀 but Samsung must know A16 users aren’t staying quiet on this one 🔥 we’ll keep pushing 💯

They won't add it. It's deliberately done so to differentiate product lineups and encourage users to purchase more expensive models that include AOD out of the box. Market segmentation !

Yeah I get it’s market segmentation but it’s kinda frustrating because the A16 literally has the AMOLED hardware that supports AOD It’s not like the phone can’t do it it’s just Samsung deciding not to enable it That’s why many of us are asking at least for it in One UI 8 — budget users also want proper value not artificial limits

Exactly 💯 the hardware’s there, the demand is there — now it’s on Samsung to actually listen to their users instead of hiding features behind price tags 🚀
