I would highly recommend suggestion that you take your phone into your nearest service center for the technician to do an technical assessment on your phone

Is it after a update or everytime you restart your phone? If it happens when you restart your phone it is noaml. Your componants are still "waking up". Every pho.e is like that (even though samsung might be some of the worst when it comes to this). And if its after the update, just wait until there is another one.

Hi
If your Galaxy A16 4G starts lagging and only works smoothly again after a restart, that usually points to a temporary system or background process issue — and yes, it can sometimes happen after a software update. Let’s go through a few steps to fix or narrow it down 👇

---

⚙️ 1. Check for any pending updates

Sometimes Samsung releases quick patches after a buggy update.
Go to:
Settings → Software update → Download and install
If you see an update, install it — it may fix the lag.

---

🧹 2. Wipe cache partition (safe and effective)

This clears old system cache that may cause slowdowns:

1. Power off your phone completely.

2. Press Volume Up + Power button together.

3. Release both when the Samsung logo appears.

4. Use Volume buttons to navigate to “Wipe cache partition” → press Power to select.

5. Choose Yes, then select Reboot system now.

This won’t delete your personal data.

---

🔋 3. Check for background apps

Some apps might misbehave after updates.

Go to Settings → Battery and device care → Memory

Close background apps and check which ones are using high memory or CPU.

---

🚫 4. Disable or uninstall unused apps

Old or unnecessary apps (especially third-party ones) can cause lag.

---

🧰 5. Test in Safe Mode

Safe Mode runs only system apps:

Hold Power button, then long-press Power off and tap Safe mode.
If the lag is gone in Safe Mode, a downloaded app is the problem.

---

🔄 6. Last resort: Backup and Factory Reset

If lag still returns, back up your data and perform a factory reset after backing up via: Settings → General Management → Reset → Factory data reset
