I've seen an influx of users both here, and on Reddit, particularly A55 users, who haven't received any major Android/One UI updates. If you're one of them, whether you use an A55 or not, try these methods:
Word of warning: These methods shouldn't wipe your data on your device, but make a backup of your data just to be safe.
Changing your CSC.
CSC stands for Country Specific Code, which determines locality-based features such as network settings, system language, call recording, clock & calendar settings, and more on your Samsung Galaxy device.
How to check your CSC: go to Settings > About Phone > Software Information > Service Provider Software Version. In there, you should see something along the lines of "XFA", "EUX", "XAA". These will differ depending on region.
For South Africa, the code should be "XFA", "XFE", or "XFV". If you see anything else other than one of these, or you see one of them with a different CSC code, that could be what's stopping you from getting updates.
How to change the CSC to match the region you're in:
1. This works if you have multi-CSC firmware on your device: open your dialer, and type in *#272*IMEI_number# (IMEI number available in Settings > About Phone. Use any one of the two if you have two SIMs in your device).
This will open a system configuration menu on your device with about 82 CSC codes. Select the one that matches your region (XFA, XFE, XFV - South Africa, INS - India, etc.). In this case, for South Africa, the most common one is XFA, so select XFA, then tap on Install. After installing, your device will either ask you to reboot, or reboot automatically.
WARNING: This procedure may wipe your data, so BACK UP YOUR DATA AS A SAFETY MEASURE.
I have personally tried this method before, on my A24 when I wasn't receiving updates. When I got the phone, it was still stuck on a 1 May 2025 security patch, which was the One UI 7/Android 15 update. I flashed the latest security patch via Odin at the time, and I couldn't get the One UI 8 update when it came out. After some digging, I found this method, tried it, and it worked. In my case, my data wasn't wiped, but it may not be the case for you, so again,BACK UP YOUR DATA BEFORE DOING THIS.
After rebooting, head back to Settings, and go to Software Update, then tap on Check for Updates. It'll connect to the server, then check if there's any available updates. If there are, you should get it immediately.
2. Using the SamFW tool (Free, but requires a Windows PC):
The first method may not work on every device, so another option is to use the SamFW tool. SamFW (short for Samsung Firmware) is a repository site that contains official Samsung firmware, straight from Samsung, not from a 3rd party.
2.1. Head to the SamFW website (samfw.com), and look for the SamFW Tool setup (or you can type it in on your Search bar in your browser). Once you find it, download it, then extract it on your PC. Make sure that you download it from the SamFW website to avoid potential malware. Depending on what anti-virus software you use, it may get falsely flagged as malware, so you can either mark it as safe in the anti-virus app, or temporarily turn it off.
2.2. After extracting, run the SamFW tool installer to install the tool.
2.3. Shut down your Samsung device, and remove your SIM and SD cards, and turn it back on.
2.4. Head to Settings > About Phone > Software Information > Build Number. Tap on it 7 times to enable Developer mode. Head to Developer mode and enable USB Debugging.
2.5. Head to your PC, and run the SamFW tool as admin.
2.6. Open the dialer on your phone, and type in *#0*#. This will open the Test Mode on your device.
2.7. Connect your phone to the PC, and click the ADB tab in SamFW tool, then click on Change CSC, and it'll show all the CSCs.
2.8. A window should pop up. In it, click on the box next to "Phone supported CSC". Browse the list, and select the one that matches your region.
2.9. On your phone, you'll be prompted to allow USB Debugging from another device. Tap on Allow. After allowing, go to your PC, click on Change (after selecting the CSC), and wait while it does its thing.
2.10. Once complete, you should see "Changing CSC to 000... OK" in the SamFW log, and your device will automatically reboot. If you didn't enable Test Mode on your device, you'll get a prompt on the SamFW tool with instructions on how to enable it.
After rebooting, check to ensure your CSC has changed, then check for software updates.

I hope this helps. If you don't want to do this out of fear of breaking your device, or you're not technical, check for updates using Smart Switch on PC, or take it to a Samsung service centre

Well if u have a pc then u can just use samsung windows app. It will fix your phone automatically and update your phone through pc. The was a time i tried to update my phone and loadshedding became a problem coz electricity went off n my wifi was off while samsung was verifying updates after downloading and it stucked on verification for a month and i went to YouTube and found the safest way without any involvement of third-party apps like odem, tft or those spr apps and u can just use samsung app from windows. Safety guaranteed 🔥🔥🔥🔥
