Try cleaning the fingerprint sensor properly and remove any screen protector if you have one. Then go to settings and delete old fingerprints and add them again. If it still doesn’t work try clearing cache partition or restart in safe mode. If the issue started after an update and nothing fixes it, then maybe it’s a hardware problem with the fingerprint sensor on your Samsung Galaxy A12.
