Extensive battery usage by Adaptive brightness after One UI 3.1 update

I had been wondering about my battery going down too fast till I discovered this. Normally if you think about it, you turn this on so that you can conserve battery and have the best brightness settings for the ambiance. Any opinions/suggestions as to why this is happening? This is one of my favorite features and had only became more accurate in the recent One UI versions.

Because of you turn on auto brightness, camera light sensor works all the time...turn this of for better bettery life

Dude, the thing didn't use this much battery before when I had this on.
