Your phone don't have a Magnetic Sensor so compass will not work. That's why it is not present in Edge Panel.

Don't know. So your phone has a magnetic sensor!

Try performing a Soft Reset on your phone. No data will be lost. Press and hold on power button and volume down button (a screenshot may be captured), just keep pressing on the two buttons until phone restarts.

Try to remove and add the Tools Panel in Edge Panel settings. Select the gear icon found bottom center (see your posted screenshot)

Cant you just hold down on power button and press restart?

Yes, but this one is different. I don't know exactly what it does but it solve lots of mysterious problems which normal restart cannot fix.
