A54 sounds like a better option but since A35 is a year after A54, it might have the same features and components as the A54.

True. Same features and components but also a few new features. To me, the A35 is a better choice, not a better cellphone but a better choice to make.😀✅️

I just checked out A54 vs A35, only difference is A54 has HDR10+ screen, 12MP Ultrawide and 32MP selfie but that's not a big deal.

Yea, it's not a big deal at all. the Galaxy A35 is the better choice, especially if the prices are similar. Its main advantages are the extra year of software updates, a more premium design, and a slightly larger display with a better-protected screen. The camera differences are not massive, and the A35 still delivers excellent results from its main camera.🤷‍♂️

For 1 year longer, and the last software update it will receive will probably introduce features that the Galaxy A54 already has.

Nope. The extra update will make the A35 have access to another major version of Android and another Samsung OneUI. This means new feature, new One UI and better optimizations to handle the CPU and GPU of the phone. the A54 will never not have that. This does does not mean that the A54 will be entirely behind though as it will get balance updates of security patches you see.
