A40 is a bit old device with some very old hardware such as the 16 MP, f/1.7, 26mm (wide), PDAF camera... 16MP is not a sensor that is being used recently but in good lightning conditions, It must perform at best since it doesn't matter that match unless it's low light... If you are still facing issues ,Try clearing data of the camera and such. And don't expect too much from a budget device that old either :)
