Galaxy AOne thing is, i don't think its a fair comparison because the lighting conditions are vastly different in the 2 pictures.
The more lighy, the more detail it will capture.
If you still have your old phone, try taking side by side pics under the same lighting conditions to see if the result is the same.
Also there a slight difference in camera appeture sizes. If I'm not mistaken, ur older phone has a larger aperture, which lets in slightly more light and slightly better quality.
Lastly, the OS is different in versions, the processing might be different.
Ideally your new phone should be better than ur old. But according to ur findings, its not the case. Like i said though, this is not a fair comparison.
Try to compare both under the same situation and see if the results are the same.
I hope this clears things up even slightly. These are my own speculations based on facts not that I'm an expert.
Also know that MP has nothing to do with how good the image turns out even in terms of quality. Processing is also involved in it.
