Is anyone else having battery life issues after the One Ui 8 update? I recently bought the A36 a month ago and my phones battery was good but after the new update it seems as if the battery is draining faster than before. Does anyone know how to fix it or do i just ignore it?

This actually happened to me after I bought a new phone.
What I can tell you is After a major update, your phone rebuilds background processes, reindexes files, optimizes apps, and sometimes even re-trains the battery usage patterns.
So if you did not have any battery issues before the update, then don't worry, your phone is not the problem. Just wait for a few days, hopefully it will get back to normal.

Samsung software department are advising their customers to wait for a new software update patch fix to correct rectify and correct theses issues/glitches/ problems that us customers are facing

What i normally do is
After I install a new Update, I make sure I do all my updates in the Galaxy Store and in the Play Store. Then I restart my phone and go about my day and let the battery get finished and let it charge fully. The phone feels fresh and the battery won't drain as much but it runs good and I let the phone learn usage patterns and if it dont do that then you should still see about the same as usual battery life

Make sure to update everything so it never wastes battery life, like update your apps and everything or if it still drains, tryout the Wipe Cache, but it requires you to power off your phone and plug it in a computer, but I also use to have this issue after updating to One UI 7.0, but you need to wait for like a month or 2 or weeks and the phone might solve the issue.

Hi
Yes you’re definitely not the only one noticing that after the One UI 8 (Android 16) update. Quite a few Galaxy A-series users (including A36, A35, and even A55 owners) have reported battery drain after installing the new firmware.

Here’s what’s likely happening and what you can do to fix or reduce it 👇

---

🔍 Why it’s happening

1. Background re-indexing:
After a big update, the system re-indexes your files, apps, and settings (especially if you didn’t factory reset). This can cause high CPU use and drain for the first 3–5 days.

2. Battery learning reset:
The power management system “relearns” your usage patterns after a major update. Until it finishes, efficiency drops.

3. Apps not optimized yet:
Some third-party apps haven’t been optimized for One UI 8 yet, so they may keep the phone awake more often.

4. New features = new background services:
Things like enhanced AI suggestions, smart circle widgets, and new lock screen behaviors can use extra power.

---

⚙️ Fixes to try

1. Clear system cache

Turn off the phone.

Hold Volume Up + Power until the Samsung logo appears.

Use volume keys to highlight “Wipe cache partition” and confirm with Power.

Then select “Repair apps” (if available).

2. Check for rogue apps
Go to Settings › Battery and device care › Battery › Usage since last charge and see if any app is using an unusual amount of power.

3. Restrict background activity

Settings › Battery › Background usage limits › Enable “Put unused apps to sleep.”

4. Turn off extra animations / AOD

Disable Always On Display and Enhanced processing.

Lower screen refresh rate if available.

5. Give it a few days
If the update was recent (less than a week), it’s best to let the phone settle. Battery stats will usually normalize within a few days.

6. Last resort: Factory reset after backup
If it continues after 5–7 days, doing a full backup and factory reset usually fixes post-update drain.
