hi 👋
first of all,
don't panic and after you update the software, it trying to improve your device security, more like some of ui issues and then battery consumption etc...
but
you know all the components are handling by the software. so after update a security patch if it got some bugs, you can feel some of battery draining, some kind of heating issues and more... and also it's very common. it will fix by next security update nearly in the future.
but
here are you can do something about it during that time period.
1. don't use your device for heavy tasks
2. don't use it while charging
3. put deep sleep some of unused applications
4. try to reduce your screen time
that's the all what you need to follow and also don't change the adapter it won't help to your problem
