To reduce the brightness of the Always On Display (AOD) on your Samsung device, navigate to Settings > Lock screen > Always On Display. Ensure "Auto brightness" is toggled off (or not selected). Then, you can manually adjust the brightness by double-tapping the clock on the AOD screen or by using the brightness slider below the auto-brightness setting when it's turned off,

As far as I know. You can't adjust the brightness. It's automatic, it should be brighter and visible in a bright room. Plus, it's a good thing that the AoD is dim, saves battery that's the whole purpose of AoD, show you the screen without really sacrificing battery. It's an amOLED panel, blacks are literally pixels off. The the clock widget is lit just enough for you to squint at and see at night.
