The "basic battery protection" option is not working properly.

After reaching 100%, the power supply should stop until the battery drops to 95%, right? 

But here, even if I leave my phone plugged in all night, it still stays at 100% and never drops to 99%, which is impossible because the battery normally drains by 1-2%.

Maybe your battery did drop to 95. So again it charged to 100. Check the notification history, it will show there.
