One UI 7 Beta 2 Review: Increased Battery Consumption Compared to One UI 6 Stable After spending a few days with One UI 7 Beta 2, one thing is clear: battery consumption has noticeably increased compared to the stable version of One UI 6. In daily usage, the device seems to drain faster even with similar usage patterns — screen-on time feels reduced by about 10–20% depending on the task. Background processes also appear to be more active, possibly because of unoptimized services and new features running in the background. Apps that previously stayed in deep sleep now seem to wake more frequently, leading to additional drain. Even overnight idle drain, which used to be very low on One UI 6, has gone up by a few percentage points. It's important to keep in mind that this is expected with beta software. Beta builds usually prioritize testing new features and gathering feedback over full battery and performance optimization. Hopefully, Samsung will address these issues in upcoming beta updates or the final stable release. In short, if battery life is a top priority for you, you might want to wait for further improvements before updating to One UI 6 Beta 2.

I’ve been testing One UI 7 Beta 2 for a few days and while the interface feels smoother, I’ve definitely noticed quicker battery drain compared to One UI 6 stable. I’m guessing some background processes still need optimization. It reminds me of when I’m wearing my broken planet clothing during long outdoor shoots — looks great and performs well, but not quite as energy-efficient in high-stress situations. Hoping the final release irons out these battery issues the way a good brand refines its fit over time.

Interessant onderwerp.

I’ve been testing One UI 7 Beta 2 for about a week now and also noticed a noticeable drop in battery life compared to the stable version of One UI 6. It seems like background processes are more aggressive, especially when using location-based apps. Ironically, I experienced a similar kind of unexpected resource drain while coordinating with home remodeling contractors Bellevue area for a project—too many small things running in the background added up to more cost and time. In both cases, it feels like better optimization would go a long way. Anyone else seeing system apps using more battery than before?
