Portrait Photo mode

In Portrait mode on the Galaxy S24 series, we increased the blur intensity on objects placed in front of the subject to be photographed, so that the result is similar to that of a DSLR. Simply adjusting the blur intensity in the front produces unnatural results, so by adding an AI model, we are able to express a much more natural depth effect compared to the previous model.

Try to position the object or person in front of the subject you want to photograph, as shown in the photo below. It is possible to create a photo that makes the subject stand out even more.

Portrait Video mode

Galaxy S24 Ultra's Portrait Video Mode uses two cameras and an AI Model to provide the same effect as if the video was shot with a lens with a shallow depth of field. In particular, the S24 Ultra model uses two cameras to estimate the distance more accurately between each frame, and gradually applies blur intensity according to the relative distance from the main subject, making it possible to express a natural bokeh effect.

In the Galaxy S24 series, Continuous Zoom from 1x to 3x is applied to increase shooting convenience, and improved VDIS is applied to ensure stable shooting results.

In addition, Portrait Video Mode in Galaxy S24 series also supports FHD/UHD 30fps recording, and along with blur, it also provides Color Point to apply black and white backgrounds other than portraits, BigCircle effect to support strong blur and bokeh lights, and Glitch effect to add artificial noise to the background.
