Edit Suggestion

Edit Suggestion is a function that recommends editing effects that can be applied to the photo or video you are viewing. You can find it on the details screen by pressing the ⓘ icon on the view screen of a photo in the gallery. The editing effects provided are as follows:

• Photos: Remaster, Background Blur, Background Effects, Long Exposure, Erase Shadows, Erase Reflections, Remove moire, Colorize, 24 hr time-lapse.
• Videos: Long Exposure, Star Trails, Highlights, Super Slow-Mo.

Among the various Edit suggestion functions, let us introduce you to the newly improved or newly added editing effects in Galaxy S24.

1) Background Blur

Add Portrait Effect function, which analyzes a photo and applies a blur effect to the background when a person is recognized, has been renamed as Background Blur in Galaxy S24 with the addition of the pet (dog, cat) recognition function.

You can now apply blur effect to the backgrounds of your pet photos as well.

※ Supported Models: Background blur for Pet photos will be supported on the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra and some of the One UI 6.1 MR models (S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, Z Fold 5, Z Flip 5, Tab S9, Tab S9+, Tab S9 Ultra).

2) Colorize

A new function is provided that analyzes black and white/grayscale photos, estimates colors, and applies the estimated color to each part. Try adding colors to your black and white photos.

※ The color estimated by Colorize may differ from the actual color.

※ Supported models: This feature will be supported only on Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra and One UI 6.1 MR applied models. Some models may not be supported depending on specifications.

3) Long Exposure

A new function is provided that allows anyone to easily apply long exposure effects using Motion Photo video clips and regular videos.

For motion photos, Long Exposure function is always provided, and for general videos, it is suggested if a video meets some specific conditions after background analysis.

※ Supported Models: This feature will be supported on the Galaxy S24, S24+, S24 Ultra and some of the One UI 6.1 MR models (S23, S23+, S23 Ultra, Z Fold 5, Z Fold 4, Z Flip 5, Z Flip 4, Tab S9, Tab S9+, Tab S9 Ultra).
