I'm not really sure of the functionality of the feature, "Now Bar." The company talks about AI all the time, but this feature doesn't really need much AI power to begin with. It shows the weather, which is not very useful to some people, and an events section, which offers nothing much for people who don't really tinker with their reminders and calendars. And lastly, by far the most useless section, is YouTube recommendations. I mean, the recommended videos, at least for me, are mediocre.
Now Bar has been here for more than two major updates already, and Samsung has yet to add much more useful features that would finally be called an innovation in the AI world.
One idea I think would be very nice is Now Bar recommending places near the user. For example, AI suggestions could include cafes nearby that I would probably like if I'm into food at those times. It would depend on searches and interactions on Maps. If I wasn't really into food and kept looking at game stores in the past few days, it would recommend some nearby stores that would pique my interest. That's just one example.
I hope Samsung tries to make it more useful, if not for everybody, at least for most people.
