Why after the latest 2 security updates the mobile temperature is rising without any extra usage or anything, when I asked the support center they told me to turn the GPS and WiFi off or factory reset?!!!!!
Is it normal!!!!!!!!

I hear your frustration — it’s not really “normal” for your phone to heat up just because of a security update, but it does sometimes happen temporarily after system patches. Here’s why and what’s going on:

Why the phone heats up after updates

Background optimization: After a security or system update, your phone re-indexes files, optimizes apps, and sometimes updates Google Play services. That can cause more CPU activity for a few days.

Bugs or poorly optimized patch: Sometimes a new patch introduces inefficiencies that make the processor or modem work harder (especially if it affects Wi-Fi, GPS, or network drivers).

Battery calibration: The update may reset how the system manages battery stats, which can temporarily cause overheating or faster drain.

Why support suggested Wi-Fi/GPS off or reset

They’re basically trying to reduce the load on the modem and background services. But telling you to switch Wi-Fi/GPS off isn’t a real fix — it’s more like a quick workaround.

Factory reset is their “standard script” because it clears any software conflicts after updates. It sometimes helps, but it’s extreme unless the issue is persistent.

What you can do before a reset

1. Wait 2–3 days: See if the phone settles down after finishing background tasks.

2. Check battery usage: Settings → Battery → check which app/process is consuming power. If it’s “Android System” or “Google Play Services,” it’s often linked to the update.

3. Clear cache partition (if your phone allows it): This often helps after updates without wiping data.

4. Update apps: Make sure everything is up to date on Play Store and Galaxy Store (if Samsung).

5. Safe Mode test: Boot into safe mode to see if overheating still happens. If not, a third-party app is misbehaving.

👉 If after a week it’s still heating up even with light use, then a factory reset or waiting for the next patch is the only solid fix.
