Dear customer,

We understand how frustrating it is when your mobile battery drains fast.

To address the battery drain concern, we recommend performing additional troubleshooting steps to identify the root cause of the issue. These steps may include:

1. Update Software: Ensure that your device's software and related apps are updated to the latest version. To update your mobile device's software, follow these steps:

- Step 1: Go to Settings > Software update.

- Step 2: Tap on Download and install.

- Step 3: Follow the on-screen instructions.

2 . 5G Service Impact: While connected to a 5G network, your phone may consume more battery than usual due to the high-speed processing of large-capacity data. Consider optimizing overall usage and adjusting background usage limits.

3. Optimization Steps:

- Open Settings > Battery and device care > Optimize now.

- Adjust Background usage limits: Settings > Battery and device care > Battery > Background usage limits.

4. Use adaptive battery: Settings > Battery and device care > More battery settings > Adaptive battery.

Greetings,

Samsung support team

I have the same issue. Since 3rd of March, 2025, suddenly my S23 Ultra started losing battery super fast. Lucky for me I'm a battery nerd. So I was monitoring my battery through a third party app since purchase 2 years ago. The battery used to last for me around 22 to 30 hours within 80% to 20%. After 3rd of March, the battery lasts maximum of 20 hours between 100 to 0%. That's a huge capacity drain that suddenly started overnight and cannot be normal. Since then it has become worse and worse gradually.
- My usage has not changed at all. On the contrary, now I use the phone less and less because of the battery issue.
- I have not installed any weird Apps or changed any settings for Apps or the whole device overall.
- The battery optimizations settings are all implemented even before this incident. (Permissions, optimized battery, sleeping Apps)
- I optimize the phone performance manually all the time.
- I set up routines from day 1 to initiate battery saving mode at night, also turn location off at night to save battery. Also turn battery saving mode when battery reaches 20%. Turn off always on mode at night to save battery.
- I charge my phone since I bought it in best practice way by keeping it mostly between 80 and 20%.

This is a serious software issue I believe, because batteries do not lose capacity like that all of a sudden. And strange enough, it was almost around the 2 year mark from the date that I bought this phone and exactly at the launch time of the S25 Ultra that this started happening. Is Samsung doing this on purpose for people to upgrade to the S25 Ultra?
