Hotspot 5Ghz issue is actually 2.4Ghz

I purchased Samsung S22 Ultra after owning Redmi K20 Pro Premium with android 11 and I hadn't this issue with Redmi phone

The issue is:

When I create Hotspot 5Ghz it shows me on my phone that I really have chosen 5Ghz but when I check the network type using any other phones it shows me it's actually 2.4Ghz

This issue exist from 2022 till today 2025

And I informed the company with this issue in 2022 but they didn't fix it yet or don't even care

If anyone knows the solution please help me

For people asking why do you need that much?

Because I use hotspot 5Ghz to transfer data fast to any device mac, iphone, Android, windows, Ubuntu, .etc

I noticed that too on my S22+. Honestly it's easier to enable mobile hotspot on your pc especially windows which lets you choose which band you want to use and 5GHz is actually legit

You are right "your idea is to do it from the second device" but you should know that not every device can connect to 5Ghz can make hotspot 5Ghz too. I work with too many devices as IT so making 5Ghz from my phone which is considered the fixed side in the equation is much easier and faster besides I don't know if mac, Ubuntu and iphone support making 5Ghz hotspot easily or not

I agree with you it's less convenient, but you gotta find solutions until samsung fixes it. Considering how flexible linux is I'm sure you can find a way to enable it on Ubunto, you can also dig in the settings of the mac to find a similar option or search in youtube. Good luck though.

But i actually didn't encounter this issue before so sorry for not having a solution

حصلت علي نفس النتيجة بالتجربة علي اكتر من هاتف سواء بأندرويد 14 او 15
صعب تكون باجز في كل الهواتف بالمنظر ده وشكلها نوع من التقييد

بص كده علي ده يمكن يكون هو ده السبب

معاك حق انا كنت جربت كذا تليفون سامسونج وشاومي من سنة ولا اتنين ولقيت نفس المشكلة بس حالياً جهاز أخويا بأندرويد 15 اسمه
Poco F6
وعملي hotspot 5Ghz ونجح

فمتفهمش سامسونج قفلاها ولا ليها علاقة بقوانين البلاد زي ما كنت قريت فعلاً ولا ايه بس الأكيد انها حركة زبالة، الواحد رايح للاندرويد علشان بيديله حريه عن تحكمات الأبل

وانا الهواتف اللي جربت عليها ليست كلها سوفتوير مصرى فيها سوفت فيتنامي وهندي والنتيجة واحده
يبقي مقفوله من عندهم

انت اللي لفت نظرى اجرب لاني نادر ما بعمل هوتسبوت وان حصل بيكون علي 2.4

لقيت انه في طريقه تجبر الهاتف علي استخدام ال 5 جيجاهرتز بس فيها عك كتير وروت يبقي قلتها احسن بالنسبالي

الله ينور عليك انا عاوزها شرعي فقط مش هضحي بالأمان والتحديثات علشان احل مشكلة من الشركة
