Battery drain caused by: "Contacts Storage"

A background process named Contacts Storage is draining a lot of battery since one ui 6.1 upgrade to my S23 Ultra.

Anyone know what is this and how to solve. I believe it is some sort of bug. 

Did anyone face similar issue and what the solution?

Contacts storge and any app you dont use

Contacts storage is a system process. It cannot be put into sleep mode and even we cannot restrict its background usage

Likewise with my A54. This morning at 6am, battery charged to 80%, now at 3pm down to 15%.

Not sure if this app is the main culprit, but to find a basic background app like a Contacts Storage took 11% of my battery is just plain nuts!

When I first gotten the A54 I had faced battery drain issues after about 2 weeks of use. There are a ridiculous number of complaints about the battery drain issues with Samsung devices and I assumed it only happened because of network issues and limited to the A Series. Now I see it affects the S series too!

 

Used phone just with ~3hr recorded screen time.

Limit the background usage of contacts storage... It will pretty much control the battery drain although not completely

U are using dual WhatsApp
Go to 2nd WhatsApp and off the permission of using contacts it will solve the problem 100%

Yes correct.
Dual Apps are causing this.
But still, it is a glitch which samsung needs to fix, and they aren't paying any attention to it.
If they offered a feature, it must be usable without such issues
