Google messages

Good evening I have a Samsung galaxy A02 and have recently installed Google Messages and tried to activate chat features but it's been stuck at trying to verify my phone number for long time! What should I do to fix this? P.S: I live in Lebanon and my Carrier is "Touch Lebanon"

Just stick with the normal messages app

did you receive any error messages , if yes please share it with us 

plus kindly try to reset the app settings by going to settings > apps > google chat services > storage > clear data and cache

I already cleared the app data from both Carrier Services and Google Messages several times but the problem still persists!!!
