I’m using a Samsung A36 and noticed a persistent problem:

  • When I record the screen, the resulting video shows colors darker or oversaturated compared to what I see on the screen during recording.
  • The same issue happens in editing apps (InShot / VN). Even with a simple action like Flip or Export, the exported video colors look different from the original.
  • I tested multiple editing and video player apps, and also changed export settings and resolution, but the result is always the same.
  • The video file itself (even when played on other devices or sent via WhatsApp) has shifted colors.
  • I tested on multiple Samsung A36 devices, and the issue is consistent, so it’s not just my phone.
It seems related to color profile / color processing on the device.
Is there any official fix or upcoming software update from Samsung to address this?

Hey — I looked around, and here’s what I found about the color-shifting issue on the Samsung A36 and what we do and don’t know. I also have some suggestions and what Samsung says (or doesn’t yet) about a fix

🔍 What I found

There is a thread in the Samsung Community where people report exactly what you described: screen recordings or exported videos showing up darker / more saturated / shifted in color compared to what was seen live on the screen.

No official Samsung patch or fix has been clearly documented yet, as of my search. I didn’t find a software-update announcement specifically acknowledging or resolving the issue for A36.

Some users suggest tweaking display settings (color profile, “Screen mode”) can mitigate it, but none say it fully fixes it.
The issue seems consistent across multiple devices (not just one unit), so likely a firmware/display driver / software processing issue rather than hardware defect in just one phone.

🛠 Possible workarounds

While waiting for an official fix, here are things you can try (if you haven’t already) to reduce the effect:

1. Change Display Mode / Color Profile
In Settings → Display, see if you can switch from “Vivid” to more natural / standard color mode, or adjust the Advanced Color Settings. Sometimes this reduces oversaturation or mismatch when exporting or screen recording

2. Use Safe Mode
Booting in Safe Mode to test screen recording / export might tell you whether a third-party app is interfering. If in Safe Mode the colors are more accurate, then some app could be messing with color processing.

3. Check Export / Recording Formats
Try using different video codecs / file formats (if options available).
Lower or change frame rate / bit rate settings to see if that changes the mismatch.
Sometimes exporting video with “standard” settings rather than “high quality / high saturation modes” helps

4. Update All Apps
Make sure your editing apps (InShot, VN, etc.) are updated, because some versions may handle color profiles differently.
5. Report to Samsung
Use the “Samsung Members” app to report a bug. If enough users report, it increases chance of an official patch sooner.
