Hello! It is truly disheartening to see a loyal fan facing this. The "Green Line" issue is a known hardware-software conflict (Display Controller failure) that often triggers after an update due to heat.
While Samsung has officially announced free screen replacements for the S21, S22, and S20 series in India, A-series users (especially A73 5G) are facing the exact same problem but are being asked to pay.
Steps you should take immediately:
Escalate to "CEO Office": Standard service centers follow a manual. Go to the Samsung India website, find the "Email the CEO" section under 'Support', and write a detailed mail with your Invoice and photos of the green line.
Raise a Ticket on Samsung Members: Go to the 'Get Help' tab > Error Reports. Attach your screenshots and mention that the phone has no physical or liquid damage.
Social Media Pressure: Post the photo of your A73 with the green line on X (Twitter), tagging @SamsungIndia and @SamsungSupport. Mention that 42k is a huge amount for a faulty update.
Consumer Forum: If they still refuse, remind them that since the issue is caused by their software update, it falls under a "manufacturing defect" which should be covered regardless of the series.
Samsung should treat all its premium customers equally, whether they use S-series or A-series!
⚠️ Note:
Agar aap meri is baat se sehmat hain ki Samsung ko A-series ke liye bhi free replacement policy lani chahiye, toh please is post ke upar diye gaye teen dots (⋮) par click karein aur "Accept as Solution" chunein taaki ye awaaz upar tak pahuche! 💙🚀

I bought A73 5G on August, 2022. As I am very **bleep** fan of Samsung, I never used other brands, I am genuinely loyal to the brand.
All these yesrs my phone was just awesome, but yesterday green line appeared on my screen which was completely because of software update, when I reached out to Service Centre, they said free replacement is only for S series.
I wonder why not for others series, because even we bought it paying money, not by free of cost.

42k is not an minimal amount, when it is by Software update issues, it should be completely borne by company. How can company be very specific about S series that too only for 3 years from the date of purchase ? Then what about other users ? Are they jokers ?

When I visited the Samsung Service Centre regarding the green line issue, I was informed that free display replacements are only offered for the S series models, and that too within three years of purchase.
But what does that mean? Are users of other models considered unimportant? If free replacements are limited to three years, then why does Samsung assure five years of software updates?

While using the phone with the green line, I’m experiencing headaches and it’s extremely disturbing to use the device in this condition.

Even when I was ready to pay for the display replacement, the staff mentioned that the display for my model (Galaxy A73 5G) is unavailable, as its manufacturing has been stopped. There is reportedly no stock anywhere in India.

I would like to clearly state that my device is free from any physical or liquid damage.

I purchased this phone on 27th August 2022. At the time of purchase, this model came with a guarantee of five years of software updates and four years of security updates.
If the green line issue occurs after a software update provided by the company, it directly indicates a manufacturing or software defect. In such cases, the company should take full responsibility. It’s unfair to ask customers to pay for defects triggered by official updates.

If Samsung promises five years of updates, then it is accountable for any issues arising during that period.

Why should only S series customers receive free replacements? Why exclude A series users?
The Galaxy A73 was a premium model in the A series when I bought it, priced at ₹42,000—a significant investment by any measure.

I even own another device of the same model, and I’m now deeply concerned that the same issue might appear on that phone as well.

When purchasing, I considered several other brands offering more features, but I chose this model mainly for its *Super AMOLED Plus display* . Sadly, the very feature that attracted me has now become a nightmare.

If Samsung provides free replacements only for S series models, then why does the company continue to release software updates for other models that are not eligible for display replacements?
