The stable One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S23 series (including the S23 Ultra) has officially started rolling out to beta testers today, May 18, 2026.

The first wave of stable software hits the servers for beta participants. A wider release for all users will roll out progressively.

Latest Carrier & Network Status

Beta Testers (South Korea & Selected Pools): The official stable build (firmware version S91xNKSU7FZDT) is live right now. The final download size is a lightweight ~600MB hotfix that closes the beta program.

US Carriers (T-Mobile, Verizon, AT&T): Handshakes for the S23 series are in the final verification stage. While T-Mobile US has already cleared and started deploying One UI 8.5 for the S24 series, the S23 Ultra stable file is expected to hit US carrier servers over the next 24 to 72 hours.

India Market: The firmware code is currently being staged on Indian servers. Indian beta switchers can expect the update to show up in their settings any time between today and May 21.

Global/Canada Milestone: Canadian network providers have explicitly scheduled the stable rollout for the Galaxy S23 lineup on May 23, 2026.

The "Surprise" in the Final Code

Instead of retaining the older security baseline, Samsung has surprisingly bundled the final stable release with the May 2026 security patch, jumping past the April build used in earlier betas.
