Attachment issues 8.5 beta testing?

I am facing lag while attaching images and videos directly inside WhatsApp chat. When I tap the attach icon and choose gallery from within WhatsApp, it takes a long time to load thumbnails and sometimes freezes for a few seconds. However, if I share photos or videos directly from the phone gallery to WhatsApp, it works instantly without any delay. I want to check if other Samsung users are also facing this issue after the recent update. Not sure if this is related to system update or WhatsApp version. My storage is sufficient and internet is stable, so that may not be the cause. Has anyone else noticed similar lag while attaching media through WhatsApp? Please share your experience and device model for comparison.
